Any world that involved having time machines. There are so many questions about the past that I would love to have answered with definitive knowledge and so many questions about what the future holds. With the ability to move through time, I could explore the wonders of our ancient past, have conversations with influential people through time, and see how our decisions for today affect our tomorrow.

When I was young, my family moved to a new town about an hour away from my hometown. One night while I was laying in bed, I looked up in the sky and saw some strange lights. The were high up in the sky and far away leaving me unable to make out any significant details aside from their colors. The lights moved strangely, unlike a plane or even a helicopter. I laid there and watched in awe for several minutes as the lights danced around in the sky.
A couple of weeks later, we visited my hometown and I went to see my best friend Bryan. As Bryan and I talked, I mentioned the strange lights in the sky. He gasped and commented that he had seen them too. He proceeded to describe what he witnessed without me saying a word and what he described was almost identical to what I had seen. Somehow, despite being separated by a distance of 60-80 miles between our houses, we had each observed the same strange lights in the sky.
We never figured out what it was that we saw. Some might say we shared a UFO experience and I guess in the technical sense of the term they would be right. For us, whatever those lights were, they were definitely unidentified, flying, and objects. If one was so inclined, they could take that mysterious event and expand it to create a variety of stories.

I don't. If I'm not in the mood to write or I find that I'm getting stuck then I simply stop. I don't want to force myself to write something that I may not be happy with later. For me, I find that simply walking away and waiting until inspiration returns works best. I've gone days, sometimes weeks, even months between writing sessions for one reason or another but in the end I had something I was happy with instead of pushing to meet some imaginary deadline that might mean compromising the story I set out to tell.

Keep writing no matter what. Aspiring authors have a variety of publishing options available to them today that weren't available in years past. Write what you want and what you would be proud to put out there. Don't count on getting signed by a major publisher or landing an agent right out of the gate. Be prepared to explore new and alternative publishing methods like self-publishing or even vanity publishers. Some people look down on using vanity publishers but there is really little difference between a vanity publisher and a self-published author. One just means that you do all the work to get the book published (usually with some cost involved) or you pay someone else to manage the project to ensure that some level of standard is applied to your work before it reaches market. Don't get discouraged if you can't find an agent. Just keep writing and keep an open mind. Sometimes you have to put yourself out there first and then people to come to you.

I'm always working on something. Usually I'm working on more than 1 book at a time. If a storyline in one book isn't coming together as I had hoped then maybe another story will flow better. Sometimes I get an inspiration for one book but the next day I may be more motivated or inspired to work on another.
I do have a blog article that talks about a lot of the things I'm working on and some of the others that I have planned but haven't started. Check it out to see what the future holds.

Inspiration can come at any time from anything. Some days just feel too tired or distracted to write and other days there's nothing I want more than to write. I always keep my phone or tablet nearby so that if inspiration hits that I can either write or at a minimum make notes about what ideas are in my head for when I can more fully explore them. But there is not one thing or one method that I follow to inspire or motivate me. Writing is a passion and I think passion comes naturally. To force it or expect it takes away from what that natural passion brings to the creative process.

I really is a combination of things. I've always enjoyed books like Lord of the Rings and the Drizzt series. Plus, I'm a big gamer where RPGs and MMORPGs frequently take place in similar worlds as these books. The original concept that eventually morphed into The Ascension Legacy was for a video game concept I created when I worked for Midway Home Entertainment. I actually wrote a blog article about it on my website that you can ready for more details.
