I am a huge daydreamer so a lot of my ideas come from just daydreaming about the story. So once I have a couple of characters in my head I start having all these daydreams about them. I write what I'd like to read so when the ideas start coming I have to know what happens. I need to find out what my characters have gone through and how they've come out the other side. That need to know is what inspires me.

I am so lucky to be able to write full time at the moment. There is no one best thing about being a writer for me, there are lots of great things. I get to work to my own schedule, I get to work from home and I get to share some stories with people and I hope that they bring people a little relief from reality, as so many books by other authors have done for me. Reading is my getaway from reality and I don't know where I'd be without it. Hopefully someone, somewhere will find a little joy from reading one of my books and I think that there is the best thing about being a writer.

I walk away and do something else for a while. There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in front of a computer, fingers on the keyboard and absolutely nothing is coming out. I listen to some music, watch a movie, do some housework, have a drink, anything to take my mind of what I'm working on and I find that, more often than not, the characters sneak back in and start telling the story again.
