Steve Pillinger Hi Sean,
Ouch! Difficult question, for two reasons: First, as I explain in my own review of the book, it arose out of a family role-playing game—so each of the major characters was played by a member of our family. Although I say in the book that the characters don't represent real people (and it's true that they've taken on a personality of their own during the writing), that identity still lingers (at least in our family). So if I now start picking favourites…
Secondly, I've tried all along to make this a story with four equal protagonists, not one. If I pick a favourite it could be understood as designating him/her as the 'main character', which I would not want to do.
But in any case, I think I can honestly say that all four of the central characters—and several of the minor ones—are my favourites in different ways. They took on a life of their own as I wrote, and I like the way they turned out! With the exception of Gil, of course—he still has a way to go.
Thanks for the question. Can I ask in return: I saw in your review that Danisha was your favourite. But did you feel there was one main character? Or did my plan of making all four equal work?

About the next book, The Restorers, I hope to have that ready by the end of July, though it may be a bit later. Hope you enjoy that as well!
Steve Pillinger I'm not sure how many books a week it takes to make someone a speed reader! But I can get through 2 or 3 if I have the time and am 'hooked'.
Steve Pillinger Creativity, creativity, creativity! And bringing pleasure to others through it.
Steve Pillinger Do a writing course; and if you're blessed with a sympathetic wife or husband, let them be your severest critic—especially if they aren't normally 'into' your genre! Make friends with other writers and share critiques of your work.
Steve Pillinger The second book of my trilogy, "The Mindrulers". It's called "The Restorers", and is mostly finished. It will carry the story forward into direct conflict between the 'accidental revolutionaries' of book 1, and the Mindruler himself.
Steve Pillinger Mainly by the desire to write the kind of fiction I'd like to read, but find increasingly hard to find! Fiction that is basically clean, without excessive sex or violence; that subscribes to—or at least does not demean—the Christian worldview; and that is speculative in nature, with a built-in "What if…?", stretching the boundaries of the 'real' world we are all too familiar with.
Steve Pillinger From a role-playing game our family played together when our children were in high school. It was set in an imaginary world and had a Christian theme, and by the time final exams brought it to an end the story had turned out so interesting that we said, "Hey, others might enjoy this! We could make a book out of it!" And so we did.
