Mainly by the desire to write the kind of fiction I'd like to read, but find increasingly hard to find! Fiction that is basically clean, without excessive sex or violence; that subscribes to—or at least does not demean—the Christian worldview; and that is speculative in nature, with a built-in "What if…?", stretching the boundaries of the 'real' world we are all too familiar with.
