Duncan P. Pacey Her husband got up to pee in the middle of the night, and snuck back in shortly after to warm his cold body. But, when she opened her eyes, she saw him still standing in the doorway - gazing at the bed in horror.
Duncan P. Pacey Once, I wrote for a blog all about apocalyptic things and had decided to produce an article on what radiation does to the human body. Well lo, for I discovered there are two units of radiation measurement (Sievert and Gray) that sounded awfully like they could be buddy cops, a classic detective duo. So I asked, who are they, and how does one fight crime in the world after the world has ended? And here we are 😅 "Sievert & Gray, Detectors" was born.
Duncan P. Pacey No matter what you do, finish writing something. Even if you think it's trash, even if it ~is~ trash (which it probably isn't), finish writing. When you finish work, you can get it edited - and editing is a monumentally educational experience. Plus, you get to say you finished something, which is a milestone. That sense of achievement will go far. So, even if you hate your work and want to bin it, DON'T. Finish it. Get it edited. Publish, learn, move on.
Duncan P. Pacey I'm currently working on my next post-apocalyptic comedy novel, currently titled "Sievert & Gray, Detectors". It's set in the same world as my prior novel, "Smack-dab, in the Middle of Nowhere", but in a city environment instead of a big open wasteland. This way, we get to explore big-city life in the world after the end of the world, and I get to figure out how crime-fighting works!
Duncan P. Pacey You know, there has never been a moment in my life where I haven't been inspired to write. I started writing short stories when I was five years old - one of my first tales was called "Three Eyes, One Life" and I could not tell you the significance of the three eyes, nor the one life. But there was a bunch of Pokemon rip-off monsters in it, because I was super into that at the time.

I've been writing pretty constantly since then, except a few years as a grumpy teenager when I mostly just drank Mountain Dew, hung with friends and played World of Warcraft. Oh high school, how I do not miss thee.
