I got the idea for this story back in high school. At the height of the Twilight craze. I said to myself "You know. I bet I could make an even more unique vampire story than that one." From my perspective, there were a lot of vampire stories of a human meeting an old and regal vampire who had hundreds of years behind them. I wanted to write a story of the struggles that came with first becoming a vampire and how that might affect a person.

Just about everything inspires me to write. The random words of a stranger passing by, an object, an interesting photograph. Everything contains some sort of story to it. I enjoy finding that story and if I cant find a story I make my own.

This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[I'm currently working on a novella for Vampire sequencing. Spoiler it's going to be about Jake's mother and father. Their story of how they met and how Jake and Quin came to be.
I'm also working on a full-length novel set in a completely different universe. I'm hoping to have both out by the end of the year. (hide spoiler)]

My advice is never to let anyone tell you it's a bad idea or that you'll have to marry rich to be successful. You make your own success in life. Do the things that you enjoy, do the things that make you happy, regardless of what others think.
Just keep writing, even if its just a sentence a day.

I find my favorite part about being a writer is when I'm weaving a story that I truly enjoy. It's when I go back and read something I've written and it's as if I'm just a reader enjoying another's work and can't wait for more only to laugh and realize that I have to be the one to write the rest of the story. I feel a sense of accomplishment and I can only hope that others feel the same enjoyment from my work that I do.

The best way I've found to deal with writer's block is to read your work. Get back into the mind of your character. Pretend that you are an actor and you've been given a role but with no lines and you have to improv your scene. How do you think your character would react to the situation? or how do you know they wouldn't react?
I also find that jumping around to different scenes works. If you're stuck on a sentence? Skip the sentence to come back to later or just rearrange the scene.
