Well, in truth, it came out of an unmentionable situation. I started down the path of the book reflecting the "stuff" of said situation. When I stepped back and saw the potential for the story being more PG-13 instead of unrated R (director's cut), I pivoted. I then re-wrote the introduction completely and the ideas never stopped. The end product is something I'm proud to call mine.

I find inspiration in the challenge of taking a really big idea and unwinding the special inside of it. There is something profoundly special about that process.

Two things:
1) More blog content;
2) A kinda-sorta sequel-ish novel. No, you may not ask me questions about this. So, there. I am confident you are happy with this response.

Your ideas are good enough to interest you, right? I mean, you've spent months writing this, and when you read it, you get excited, right?
Find an editor that is in line with your goals and the spirit of your project, and allow those scrutinizing eyes to bulletproof your project. Then, share it with the world. I can say from experience that though it requires a massive amount of gumption (insert TV/movie reference of your choice) to release your work to the world, it is one of the most rewarding experiences a writer can experience.

Having the chance—just a tiny, minuscule chance—to deepen someone's life, even if just for a moment.

It depends where I am in a project, honestly.
If I'm at the very beginning and inspiration just isn't there, I play my guitar for a little while. I'll go back to the project when my fingers are sore and usually be able to proceed.
If, on the other hand, the project is well established, I'll read some portion of the writing that came before, hoping to squash the block like an insect. If instead the insect wins, I'll almost always try the guitar trick, return and try again.
Nature works well in either case if a guitar is not available.
