Pigs in Paradise is political satire, literary, and funny. It is also an exercise in freedom of expression and freedom from religion. Influenced by George Orwell, Pigs in Paradise is my Animal Farm for the 21st century and was started in 2007. When the idea for the novel started to take shape, I found my mission, or rather it found me.

I'm not sure, but it's something I have to do. Looking for distractions doesn't work. Read, read. Take notes. Listen to music. Something will come to you.

A memoir in process. A love story for old (er) people, "When Corona Come." This is how my wife referred to the coronavirus when I left Vietnam in March 2020 and crossed into Thailand from Cambodia after the airports were closed on March 18. I made it to Thailand on March 19, one day before all the borders were closed.

Writer's block, I think, is like bipolar, high and low, ebb and flow. I have dealt more with writer's block than writing. I don't push it, but one thing that might help, though. Go ahead and sit down when you're tired and not in the mood and see what happens. Write a page and call it a night. I spent 13 years writing wonderful notes, experiencing trepidation, and the fear of failure as I wrote for nine years. The rest of it is life, day jobs, divorce, the everyday.

Right now, I have been reading Howard Fast's "The History of the Jews." Well written, thorough, and insightful. I highly recommend it.
