Goodreads asked Roger Maxson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Roger Maxson Tread carefully, go slow, experience, travel, get a critical thinking liberal arts undergraduate degree or one in education. Go from there, grad school, MFA?
There is so much information and so little time to waste your time trying to take it all in. Go with your instincts. I quote Bob Dylan (paraphrase, top of my head: "Don't follow leaders. Watch the parking meters . . . . The pumps don't work 'cause the vandals took the handles."
