Laura Bull Do research on anything remotely dealing with your topic of choice. If anything strikes a nerve, write about it. If not, walk away for another day. Stress only restricts creativity. So it's best to get a work out in or do anything else you enjoy. It'll come to you.
Laura Bull I have found that while some ideas come in dreams, conversations, or the shower...in reality, true inspiration comes in tandem with good writing habits. I don't fully get inspired until I get a few pages into what I'm writing. Therefore, 3-4 hours of quiet time, coffee, and instrumental music in the background are requirements to get the ball rolling.

When I set out to write this book, it was for the artists I knew, both friends and clients, who needed a positive push in the right direction. I wanted to give them the marketing knowledge to take ownership over their own career and learn the intricacies of their brand. But over time it morphed into something more far-reaching. Any creative or entrepreneur, politician or public figure, author or student can learn how to turn themselves into a business brand using my Brand Matrix.⠀

So while the literal meaning behind the books dedication is for my musicians friends who have lost an engine hundreds of miles from help and never gave up (you know who you are), the metaphorical meaning applies to anyone struggling to get past a hurdle and feeling defeated, all while still eyeing the next goal. We've all been there and I hope my book helps it get better.⠀

With ♥️ from me to you.⠀
Laura Bull Don't just write for today. Don't just write for passion. Write something that your 70 year old self will be proud of and write with a purpose in mind. The moment when you recover from the tedious techniques and edits and style corrections with these two priorities still at the forefront, you know you have something worth sharing.
