How do you get inspired to write?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author I love reading biographies and watching documentaries on other writers. Their fascinating lives provide some pep in my step. I also enjoy going on literary pilgrimages to walk in the footsteps of famous writers.

What are you currently working on?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author I am currently at work on two books: fiction and nonfiction. I don't have the plot completely worked out yet on the fiction book, but there is an outline. The nonfiction one is a "faith-based" motivational book about my journey through adversity and how my faith helped launch me into the world of writing.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author You should write because your soul depends on it. If you're doing it for the money, stop. Edgar Allan Poe decided he would make his living solely on writing. It didn't work for Poe, and it won't work for you, either. Don't quit your day job. That said, keep writing. Don't allow anyone to tear your dreams asunder. Remember, being a writer isn't about fame and fortune. It's about the ability to live a thousand lives.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author I usually go to another venue to write besides my house like a cafe. While I was writing my novel, I developed a severe case of writer's block and spent time in a hotel in NYC. That seemed to do the trick. Also, a good hike where you're away from man-made society can shake loose that creative energy.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author Currently, I am reading a biography on Natalie Wood. My next read will be a book I ordered about the author Louisa May Alcott titled Marmee & Louisa: The Untold Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Mother.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Tara Lynn Marta, Author I lost my mother when I was twelve, so the idea from my book came from my own experience with loss.
