89,278,948 eligible voters didn't get off their asses to vote in the United States in November 2024. So now Colorado Congresswoman Loren Bobert is Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of Education.

Turn off the TV and plug my phone in to charge in a different room. Is there some easier way?

One of the first four I self-published? Or one of the next couple I'm trying to work on? I'm sitting on about two decades of blog posts mostly. I figure even though everyone warns kids that "whatever you put on the internet never goes away," I should get it between covers on paper and on a shelf or in a box that I can leave my grandchildren before I have grandchildren or before the internet goes away.

Someone once said "what garlic is to salad, insanity is to art." I write for my mental health. John Greene talks about "going on stupid walks for my stupid mental health." I probably should go for a walk or exercise or drink water or hug people, Hell, I'm an artist- you'd think I'd draw or paint, but I break down and write. I know no one is reading, but I'm just so sideways and strung out, all I can think to do is write. Maybe I'm too afraid to drink or try drugs. Writing doesn't cure me, but it certainly eases the frustration some. So in short, I get sad, I get anxious, or I get pissed off. Why? How to other people get inspired to write?

Think of writing as an end in itself- as a thinking tool; not as a means to an end like fame, fortune, attention, affirmation or some imaginary lifestyle. Just write because it's in you and has to come out. Write as a thinking tool. Write as as a form of self-care/therapy, write for the pure catharsis of it.

Trying to get back into my old Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing account after four years of disuse. I started 8 books and only published the first four. I tried starting a Substack, but don't have any followers or subscribers- between that, being too busy, and the soul crushing grief of our democracy dying- It's been hard not to drown in self pity and nihilism.
