Eileen Waite Anything I can get my hands on! I don't tend to have a reading list because I forget about it or I forget what the books on it are about! Instead I read a book and then look for a new one when I'm done so the book suits my current mood.
Eileen Waite Hogwarts! But perhaps when Harry wasn't there...I'd like to actually study magic and learn rather than be facing Voldemort.

Otherwise its the edible world from The Wishing Chair- I still think about the shop with every kind of soup on tap and the street made of chocolate!
Eileen Waite "I am home alone, I am home alone, I am home alone, I am home alone..."
It did not matter how often or how loud I said those words, for nothing could drown out the sound of someone breathing down my neck.
Eileen Waite So many ways! It can be a certain type of weather, be it rain or shine, or a particular song or thought. It can be a wandering thought that turns into an idea that i just have to put into one of my books, or it can be because I am sat on the sofa with ten minutes spare. Sometimes I just get the bug and I'm fidgety and restless until I write- and my husband knows that I will get moody if I don't and will pester me until I do! My inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere and is both internal and external, and I'm quite grateful for that.
Eileen Waite Being able to put my imagination to good use! I've always been able to spin a story since I was a child, and I had all of my English teachers encouraging me to take the talent further. it is amazing to do just that and not only realise that my life long dream is now my reality, but to also be giving readers something new to sink their teeth into! There is nothing quite like having others read your work- even if it is very nerve wracking- and getting their amazing reviews. It makes me so happy to have finally taken a step that I was always afraid of taking, and it has paid off!
Eileen Waite Write something else! Taking a break from the current book that I'm blocked on can work wonders. It gives me space to think about the story, refresh my mind and ideas and start writing again when I'm ready to. I take off the pressure and expectation, write other things even if its only a plot outline or a bit of fun, and wait for the block on my current work to fade- which it always does!
Eileen Waite Write as often as you can- even a single sentence is progress.#
Take criticism constructively and not offensively.
Not everyone will love your work- some will downright hate it and won't hesitate to say so! Focus on the lovers, not the haters, and don't be discouraged!
Don't be afraid to make online (and in person!) connections with other authors, editors, PAs, designers, readers...you name it, connect with it! People are so valuable in more ways than what their job title says.
Eileen Waite The third book of The Cursed Ones, the first draft of Devil May Care, a rewrite of Voodoo Child and the outline for a currently unnamed series!
Eileen Waite Honestly, ideas tend to just pop into my head. I have always had an over-active imagination and often find myself sucked into a daydream if epic proportions that later becomes a book idea. The same happens with dreams and random thoughts and phrases! They just come from anywhere and everywhere.
