Ideas just come to me. Once you've had one book read and reviewed, it becomes addictive. Confidence comes from people actually enjoying your work, and that inspires you to create more!

Discipline. That's the hardest part. You have to write every day. Starting a novel is really easy. The tough part is finishing it. And always remember, it's YOUR story. You can take it in any direction you like, and once you've completed your first draft, have a breather, and then revisit it with fresh eyes, and iron out all of the messy parts. It never pays to rush - as exciting as it is to get a book out, doing it properly is the only right way.

I'm currently working my way through Mick Herron's brilliant Slough House series about the Slow Horses. Absolutely hilarious.

I can invent words like "Schlurrdigump" and there's nobody that can stop me.

Creativity can't be forced. I find that the best way to deal with a blank pages is to walk away from it and do something else. It can become wholly frustrating staring at an empty screen, wondering if your brain is still functioning at all.
There are, very occasionally, moments where I push through the pain and work on another aspect of the story - perhaps the blurb, or designing the cover. This can quite often lead to sparks of inspiration that kickstart your writing.

I'd travel to the OASIS in Earnest Cline's virtual world in Ready Player One. It's so beautifully described in the novel, and whilst I'm not a gamer, I love the idea of a virtual adventure story that the reader is immersed in, where they have to solve clues and master challenges.

I'm currently working on a new novel call Fagan, about a time-travelling child-psychologist, which I'm really excited about. The second book in the Rogue Series, Enemy, is going to my editor shortly, ahead of a September 2024 release, and the third book in the series, Traitor is in the works.

My debut novel, Rogue, which released in June 2021 was inspired by a Radio 2 interview with Professor Brian Cox, during which he mentioned rogue planets, wandering through our solar system completely untethered to any orbital pathway. I've always been a huge fan of sci-fi and dystopia, so the idea of a rogue planet intrigued me, and I just started writing. For the second book, Enemy, it was all about the continuation of Jaxon's journey, after the evacuation. There was a ton of world-building to do, with an enormous space-station as the setting, so I really enjoyed creating the environment, and weaving Jaxon's story through the various globes.
