Goodreads asked Danny Lenihan:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Danny Lenihan Discipline. That's the hardest part. You have to write every day. Starting a novel is really easy. The tough part is finishing it. And always remember, it's YOUR story. You can take it in any direction you like, and once you've completed your first draft, have a breather, and then revisit it with fresh eyes, and iron out all of the messy parts. It never pays to rush - as exciting as it is to get a book out, doing it properly is the only right way.
