I write picture books for children with a full plotline. They're great for kids that can read on their own. So it depends on the child's reading comprehension. For some that could be 5 yr olds for others 8 -12 yrs old.

I've just released 3 books for the holidays.
Please Let Santa Fly - a picture book. Someone wants to put Santa on the naughty list, but that has to be a mistake. Santa is the essence of good. Who is behind this push to make Santa the number one offender of being naughty?
'Twas the Day Before Christmas -picture book in rhyme in the style of Clement Moore's poem but with a Christian theme.
Let's Share a Meal: Comfort Food for Family & Friends. I've won awards for my cooking. I'm sharing my favorite recipes that are easy to make and with ingredients that can be found in your neighborhood market.

The best way to deal with writer's block is to set aside what you're working on and go to another project. Another concept I learned in a writing seminar was to look at your main character and write down every inconceivable plot twist that could happen to them... they get hit by a meteor, abducted by space aliens, stalked by a prince, discover they're adopted. You get the idea. Once you do that, you'll be amazed by the good ideas that come out of it. And remember, you don't have to write in a straight line, jump a chapter ahead if you're stuck.

Don't expect to get rich by writing books. Just because you write it, doesn't mean others will buy it. Once you start checking into royalties, printing fees, marketing, etc, you'll be surprised how little is left unless you sell thousands of books. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't write your book. Write because that's what you like doing and feel inspired in doing it.

I'm finishing a final edit of sweet romance set in Texas, which was previously my home state. I also have a Christmas time-travel novel that will come out next year.

I've asked that same question to over 700 authors on my weekly blog and my answer is pretty much the same as most of them. I see inspiration all around me. I'll be listening to a song and think "I like the emotion there. I'll have to put that feeling in my storyline. Or I'll hear a conversation and incorporate it into a character. I also enjoy traveling and that gives me ideas for book settings.

For the last 10 years I've had my inspirational stories and devotionals published in numerous magazines and book anthologies. I've done an Advent devotional with a group of writers coming up to my tenth year and I thought it was time to do a book of my own. After much research and rewriting, I finally finished and published The First Noel - Digging Deeper Into Christ's Birth. I hope you'll read it and encourage others to do the same.
