Eric Auxier Mission 4: Yakuza Dynasty, of my Code Name: Dodger series. Much of it takes place in Kyoto, one of my all-time favorite cities. Of course, I wouldn't want to have to mess with the Japanese Yakuza, as my teen hero Justin has to!
Eric Auxier On Silent Wings, by Tyler S. Gaston. Great aviation techno-thriller!
Eric Auxier Either put the writing in a drawer and let your subconscious work on it for awhile (for that 3am inspiration!), or...sit down and write 1 single paragraph. That's your goal, one paragraph. After that, more ideas will begin to flow, and before you know it, you've got another scene written.
Barring all that, sit down and write more backstory for your characters, that you don't necessarily intend to publish or reveal. It will help you to learn those characters that much more.
Eric Auxier One of the most magical things for me is when a character you've created suddenly comes to life on the page, and begins to write his own story. It's really true! If you've created a complex, well rounded and quirky, believable character, that person suddenly begins speaking in their own voice!

I can't help but feel like Dr. Frankenstein and shouting, "It's alive! It's alive!!"

But, beware, that character still needs direction, or it may veer off on a tangent. The tangent may work, or it may not. The author, ultimately, must stick to the direction they see best, unless a better one presents itself.

Also, one of the greatest unexpected things about being a writer is meeting so many wonderful people around the world!
Eric Auxier Write write write. Start now, and don't stop! The more you write, the easier it gets.

I wrote my first "Novel," "Little Froggy and the Golden Transmitter," when I was six! Fully illustrated and 13 pages long!
Eric Auxier I'm currently writing There I Wuz! Volume 4, of my nonfiction series, with a target release date of December, 2017. After that, I plan to devote full time to "Water & Air," the much-anticipated and demanded sequel to "The Last Bush Pilots."
Eric Auxier It happens everywhere, all the time. A snippet from a newspaper here, an overheard conversation there.
But, to tell you the truth, my "magic hour" for inspiration is...3am! I can't tell you how many times I've woken up with some great idea for a story, or with an idea a way to resolve a conflict. This happened to me when in the middle of writing Yakuza Dynasty. I knew the beginning and the end, but not really what happened in the middle. I set the story aside for about 2 months. Then, one morning, I woke up at 3am, and viola! the rest of the story just flowed from my head!
I DO wish, however, that my "magic hour" was 3pm and not 3am!
Eric Auxier "Yakuza Dynasty" is the "Final Mission" (Mission 4) of the "Code Name: Dodger" Spy/Fly thriller series. It wraps up the series quite nicely, answering many questions posed throughout the series, and tying off many story threads that have been woven throughout the series.

Would you believe it? I got the original idea for Mission 4 about halfway through writing Mission 2 (Cartel Kidnapping)! It was then I realized that an important character from Justin's past was actually still alive, and would play a fundamental role in the conflicts in Mission 4.
