I'm working on revisions, using suggestions made by my critique partners, to a sequel to "Beyond I Do."
Here's the preliminary blurb: Angela Meadows is ready for a clean slate, to launch a career, and to embrace her new life in Christ. But self-loathing and remorse for a life forever lost hold her back. When she encounters a single mom married to an incarcerated felon and her children, Angela’s shame becomes swallowed by something greater—compassion. Her past draws her to them, but will it drive away the only man she’s truly loved?

Always finish what you start. It's too easy to quit mid - novel when things get tough, but each time you quit one story and move on to the next, it's easier to quit the next one. Every story is fixable! Second, never give up! They say only about 10% of writers get published. I say that's because the other 90% quit! And what if they quit one month before their first contract offer? They'll never know.

Often increased research helps me overcome writers block. For example, if I'm needing more conflict, taking additional time to experience, through books, articles, etc., the job or whatever my characters do helps stir ideas. Sometimes taking time to do something mindless and active helps. Often, when I feel stumped regarding a thread or scene, if I pull away for awhile, the idea eventually comes. I also rely heavily on two special brainstorming buddies! We chat via Google Hangout, and have a blast imagining fictional world's together!
