Michele Young-Stone I don't believe in it. I believe in frustration and self-doubt, things that can make me pause from sitting down to do the work, but I don't believe in "writer's block". I try to remember what Hemingway said: I'm paraphrasing, but it's something like, Always make sure you stop writing while you still have something to say. Save something for the next day. I also get a lot of ideas in the shower or when I'm walking. Oftentimes if I'm not sure what to write, I'll realize that I need to do more research, and I'll go that route.
Michele Young-Stone By putting my ass in the chair and doing it. I had a professor who always said, "Put your ass in the chair and don't check email or Facebook or search the internet... Stare at the blank page. If nothing comes, you still did your work that day." I'll tell you, something always comes.

Michele Young-Stone Never give up. Write every day. KNOW that revision is part of the process. If you want an audience, submit your work until you find the right literary agent. Be patient and steadfast. Try to perceive rejection as a stepping stone to acceptance.
Michele Young-Stone I am currently working on a fourth novel set in a strict religious community. I am in the very beginning stages of this book so I'm enjoying exploring and getting to know my characters.
