The gas meter reader came to our door yesterday and said he needed to check the gasline inside the house. So, I took him to the basement. While inside, he fiddled with the gas line and told me how to fix the leaking water heater. Then he left.
I had no clue why he was there and realized later how dumb I'd been to let him into the house at all. My husband consulted the neighbors who reported there had been a gas leak in the area. After explaining the mysterious visitor, he thoroughly reminded to be more cautious while working in my office at home.
Yes, I agree and understand. But the whole thing left plot bunnies hopping around with ideas for using that incident. Most people are very trusting of public utility workers. My own complacency will feed into a future character's decisions and outcomes. The meter reader/ mailman/pest control/delivery man/ could be a thief, rapist, terrorist, escaped lunatic, undercover secret agent man...

Charles and Anna-- "On the Prowl, Cry Wolf" Book 1 & 2 of the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs.
Charles, tall, dark, and silent savage. The enforcer/assassin who answers only to his father, the Marrok, the most dominant werewolf in North American land.
Anna, red-haired, freckled, sweet spirited musician, attacked by a werewolf and deliberately changed into a monster.
I really love this couple. Anna gives Charles' wolf peace, and his human unconditional love. Charles gives Anna safety, sanity, and a rock solid partner to always have at her back. I am so drawn in by their emotions that these two seem like a real couple I want to know better.

Hi, I'm so glad you've enjoyed the first six books in the series. The digital edition of Book seven, Breed True, will re-release in August 2016. The print version is planned for release in July along with the McCallister Bounty Hunters digital boxed set being offered for a limited time.
Book eight, Whispering Grace, will release in September (this title and story have never previously been published). I hope you'll continue ~gem

Grrrrr...it happens for sure. I grab a completed manuscript that needs edited and focus on polishing and improving what I've already written until the "I can't think what's next" passes. I'm sure other authors have better plans, but I just keep writing, even if I think what I produce is crap.

Write 50 words (not many) of a story each day for a year (at the least). 50 x 365= 18,250 words in a year and you have a short story under your belt. Write 100 words a day and you have 36,500 words completed and a novella. Write 200 words a day for a year and you have 73,000 words and a long novel.
The process of writing is as much learning a routine and sticking to it as it is brilliant craftsmanship. Good Luck!

Cerise Amour is a sneaky side story that crept into the Unlikely Gentlemen series. The love story I sketched as background for Tali Fitzwilliam's parents left the readers (and me) wondering how a couple could have ended up at war with each other for 25 years. Had to write the book to figure it out.
