Goodreads asked Gem Sivad:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Gem Sivad Write 50 words (not many) of a story each day for a year (at the least). 50 x 365= 18,250 words in a year and you have a short story under your belt. Write 100 words a day and you have 36,500 words completed and a novella. Write 200 words a day for a year and you have 73,000 words and a long novel.

The process of writing is as much learning a routine and sticking to it as it is brilliant craftsmanship. Good Luck!
