Goodreads asked Gem Sivad:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Gem Sivad The gas meter reader came to our door yesterday and said he needed to check the gasline inside the house. So, I took him to the basement. While inside, he fiddled with the gas line and told me how to fix the leaking water heater. Then he left.

I had no clue why he was there and realized later how dumb I'd been to let him into the house at all. My husband consulted the neighbors who reported there had been a gas leak in the area. After explaining the mysterious visitor, he thoroughly reminded to be more cautious while working in my office at home.

Yes, I agree and understand. But the whole thing left plot bunnies hopping around with ideas for using that incident. Most people are very trusting of public utility workers. My own complacency will feed into a future character's decisions and outcomes. The meter reader/ mailman/pest control/delivery man/ could be a thief, rapist, terrorist, escaped lunatic, undercover secret agent man...
