Oh boy. I find the world built by author Elisabeth Busch in her Children of Copernicus series (in paperback on Amazon and currently running on Patreon) to be fascinating. Travelling to another world from any of the planets in her story is as easy as going through a jump gate, so hitting up any world in her planetary landscape would be cool.

Probably "Where's that smell coming from?"
Spoiler: It's the dog.

My TBR pile is huge enough already. I have gotten into reading books by indie authors lately. I find the breadth of storytelling in that field a refresher from mass-produced novels. New voices, fringe ideas, and deviation from tropes is invigorating. That said, there isn't one specific title I am looking forward to reading.

I don't usually get writer's block, but int he rare circumstance when it rears its head, I simply take a break and write something else like a blog entry, or a short story...something to switch focus and give my brain a chance to step away from the work that has me blocked.

I love creating worlds and filling them with people, then taking those people and putting them through hell. It is a god complex thing I am sure, but to me it is fun. If you can't have fun writing, then you shouldn't be doing it.
Additionally, I have met and made friends with many other writers of varying caliber. The writer community is close-knit and supportive.

Just write. I look back on some horrible things I have written, or good ideas executed poorly and I think of them as failures. But at least I can say that I wrote.
In the day and age of self-publishing, you can get your work into print and into the hands of people who want to read what you write. Don't do it for the money though, that will only lead to disappointment. Do it because you love to tell stories and if one or two people find enjoyment from reading what you write, then consider it a success.

I have a couple ideas I am currently working on. I just published "Lamb of God" so a lot of my time is spent right now on marketing the book any way I can.
Nothing in the outline process yet, but I have some ideas that I don't want to jinx by discussing them at this moment.
Another comedy or two is still in my blood that I need to get out, then I will jump back to horror if I can cement down a solid idea that hasn't been done yet.

I don't think one gets inspired to write, the desire is always there. You get inspired to write a specific story though based upon a myriad of things. Perhaps it is a news story that terrifies you, or a social injustice that you wish would have ended differently, or perhaps it was culled from a dream/nightmare. Inspiration for a story can strike anywhere. I typically carry a notepad or have my cell phone nearby to record a memo about an idea.

My most recent book, "Lamb of God" started off as a played-straight horror novel, then titled "The Lamb", about a young suicidal man who accepts help from a group of Christians who turn out to be anything but and end up using the man to usher in the age of the anti-Christ.
During the outlining process I decided to include a twist ending that caused the entire outline to derail. After a couple weeks of trying to fix the butterfly effect of tampering with the story I took a break and read "Gigantic Death Worm" by Vince Kramer. It inspired me to take the premise of "The Lamb" and twist it into a bizzaro comedy that ultimately became "Lamb of God" which I co-authored with a new author named Wyatt Adams.
