I'm self-published and I know how hard it is. My e-books are in Barnes and Nobles, etc. but getting hard copies in there is hard. I would try talking to the manager and see what they say. Also get friendly with your librarian. Give her a book pitch and see if she would highlight the book on her front desk for a month. Beside it have a stand-alone frame with the synopsis of the book and where to buy it. Leave your business/book cards there for people to pick up. See if there are some cancer groups that meet and ask if you can come talk with them. ?A cancer center? By the way, I'm from Williamston, NC originally. So glad to see you were from Greenville. Please don't hesitate to get hold of me. I'm not much good, but I can certainly be an encourager. God bless you!

Hey Ed, Sorry for the delay in answering. I had 2 doctor appointments yesterday and was busted. Trust me, I'm just a writer like you, struggling to find answers and help on what to do with the books I've published. The industry is fast-paced and changing daily. There are a lot of book-sharks out there that promise a lot and give very little for a lot of money. Beware. I loved your book. I wish you could give people a 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 because that is what I would have done. Having worked in Hospice 15 years, I see a huge benefit for this book to get out to caregivers and those struggling with their illness and faith. The only, I mean only, thing distracting is it needed some editing. I realize you were dealing with other people's stories, but editing them and not changing their story would have helped. But to be truthful, I don't think the majority of readers would even notice it. No, I think you just need to market this book and get it into the hands of people that will definitely be inspired and encouraged by it. Have you thought about coming to the Pamlico Writers Conference in Washington, NC next March? That's a good way to meet other writers and to sell your book. I would also get a free book in every home health/Hospice/hospital lobby I could put it in. If you have a couple of nurse's that work in geriatric that you could persuade to read the book, I think they would also help promote it.

I would travel to the Lost Horizon to teach in a world of peace and tranquility.

I stay inspired. Truly. Since I was a child, I have always had a story in my head. My first attempt at being a writer was when Mama put a crayon in my hand. I would try to draw the scenes and people in my head. When I learned to write, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was wonderful! Writing is part of who I am. Thank you, God, for gifting me with stories!

Cries of Mercy, third in the Cries series. So excited to get these characters and scenes out of my head and onto paper. They are nerve wracking!!!

Instead of keeping all this stuff in my head, I get to share it. I've been an oral storyteller since I was a child. I love weaving a good tale. Now, as a writer, I get to tell it all!

I am a daydreamer and rarely find myself with writer's block. I create stupid scenarios just from listening to people talk or observing them in their coming and going. I also write daily. I think that might be the key to avoiding those stagnant writing periods some writers have.

Watching a girl being abducted and doing nothing. It's haunted me. When I wrote Cries of Innocence, I had to include a portion of it. Somehow I hoped it might cause others to react rather than be passive when seeing something so degrading and humiliating.
