Michael Stolle Hi, Nice to hear from you.
Michael Stolle Dear Gwen,

Thanks for your question!

I'd love to see by books in a bookstore but bookstores and libraries only buy books promoted by the big publishers. Publishers only publish if you find the right agent and agents are telling new authors that they're far too busy and too important to spend time reading new books by unknown authors. I found this so frustrating that I simply stopped soliciting them and concentrate with the help of Amazon publishing on what I like best... writing stories.

Since I started publishing I reached more than 50.000 readers and find this very encouraging. Thanks to goodreads I can communicate with my readers. Many readers like my books, some love them, some hate them. That's life but as long as the majority tells me to go on - I do.
Cheers,

Michael
Michael Stolle What a tricky question! Probably I should quickly browse Shakespeare, Jane Austin or why not someone more modern like Hemingway to find a suitably impressive reply.
What comes to my mind though will draw the scorn of the intellectuals as the favourite couple that pops up in my mind right now is The Grand Sophy and her cousin.
An all-time favourite book of mine written by the unforgettable Georgette Heyer as it combines all I love: history, a good dose of humour and romance. I love the heroine and her reluctant lover-to-be.

It's simply hilarious and a wonderful read.

Michael Stolle I'm working on a new book set in the year 1644, a fantasy story but set against the authentic background of the English Civil War. Many friends of the French Orphan will be able to meet their favourite protagonists once again.

As the book is embedded into a genuine historical context it demands a lot of research to get it right. Interesting work, sometimes a bit tedious....

I can reveal that Armand will fall in love, once again, but he'll suffer....

A fascinating period!
Michael Stolle you're the boss. You don't like a character, make him suffer :) or kick him out of the plot - so unlike real life.....
Michael Stolle by digging into the time of the English civil war I came across a queen - Henrietta Maria - I had never heard about before, a stubborn character, ideal for a story
