What comes to my mind though will draw the scorn of the intellectuals as the favourite couple that pops up in my mind right now is The Grand Sophy and her cousin.
An all-time favourite book of mine written by the unforgettable Georgette Heyer as it combines all I love: history, a good dose of humour and romance. I love the heroine and her reluctant lover-to-be.
It's simply hilarious and a wonderful read.
