Jacqueline Hopkins Because I tried to sell it the traditional route back in the late 1980s and early 1990s when I was a member of the RWA, but no one wanted it, then life got in the way of my writing so when I got back into it 2010/2011, I didn't want to try the traditional route because it takes too long to even get your book out to the public and going indie is quicker. And after reading some very popular blogs like Konrath's and seeing what kind of money was possible, why give 75% of your earnings to a traditional publisher when you can make 70% going indie. Thank you for stopping and asking.
Jacqueline Hopkins This is a hard question for me to answer. I haven't completed a mystery yet, but I have ideas for several and have started a series set in SE Alaska that takes place during the different fishing seasons there.
Jacqueline Hopkins I have a bunch, too numerous to list. I used to be big on Sue Grafton ABC series, then Patterson's Cross novels, and Patricia Cornwell, but when I am writing, I hardly read, so I don't even know who is good anymore. Thank you for stopping by and asking.
Jacqueline Hopkins Right now I started the second in the series I want to set in SE Alaska since I had been there living there until 2012. There are a series of 3 of them all about the different fishing seasons that take place there and the murders are either taking place on the water or have something to do with the fisheries. I even have the book cover for the second book and was writing two short stories about eh main characters and how they came to Alaska; have the book covers for those as well. Thank you for asking.
Jacqueline Hopkins I go to the next book until I get 'stuck' aka writer's block, then go to the next book and so on.
