Anma Natsu
Anma Natsu asked Jacqueline Hopkins:

When it came time to publish your first novel, what ended up being the deciding factor between going indie or trying the traditional route?

Jacqueline Hopkins Because I tried to sell it the traditional route back in the late 1980s and early 1990s when I was a member of the RWA, but no one wanted it, then life got in the way of my writing so when I got back into it 2010/2011, I didn't want to try the traditional route because it takes too long to even get your book out to the public and going indie is quicker. And after reading some very popular blogs like Konrath's and seeing what kind of money was possible, why give 75% of your earnings to a traditional publisher when you can make 70% going indie. Thank you for stopping and asking.
