Being in hell and suddenly realizing that you made the wrong decision about Jesus while you were still alive on earth.

I would not want to travel to a fictional book world as I love to live in reality. My reality causes me to live in this world, but with the joy of the Lord guiding my decisions and influence. I am blessed when something I say or write blesses someone else and causes them to look to God as the solution to all their problems. We would have no desire to escape into a fantasy world if we truly tasted the goodness of God personally. He changes our current view and makes us grateful for our life. This is far more satisfying and powerful.

I look at the things people struggle with most due to a lack of knowledge.
Fewer people today know much about God's Word. I feel I can make things easier for people by telling them what God's Word says regarding their questions. If they want to accept the truth of the Bible, then their life will be changed as a result. Mission accomplished!

Reading the Word of God, reading Christian non-fiction books, listening to Christian ministers on t.v. or anything that is dear to my heart.

Finishing up a series (A Woman of Substance) of shorter e-books, taken from my second book, which was quite long. It will be an 8 volume set that readers can purchase separatly if they like. After that I have about 5 subjects I want to write about.

If you're going to write Christian non-fiction, as I do, remember to keep the message about Jesus and not yourself. Of course a testimony about how God changed your life is inspiring to others. I don't write the way most women do, meaning I am very logical and less emotional. I dont care for emotion-driven teaching and writing, as the style is too self-centered for me. I prefer to read books that are full of what faith can do in your life.
My second piece of advice is to continually look to God to make your writing career happen, in His way and in His timing, which is usually much slower than we would like. Keep your focus on the Lord, spend time with Him, and He will get you there. The tendency is to forget Him in the process or to look to worldly advice about how you can advance your books. I have chosen not to follow this advice and rely solely on the Lord. That way I can see Him at work...and not my own efforts.

I can be an evangelist right from my home. I have the spiritual gifts of teaching and exhortation...and writing was the next step in teaching. I enjoy the international reach that books have. The fact that I can be used to change someone's life forever (and their eternal destination) from something the Holy Spirit empowered me to write is simply astounding.

I don't suffer from writer's block. That usually comes to those who write fictional story lines.Since my books are taken from subjects in the Bible, I don't think I'll lack for material for the rest of my life. All I need to do is look in our vast library at home (my husband has a theology degree and was an Army Chaplain for 30 years) and I can find inspiration. Also the Holy Spirit usually impresses on my heart what topic to tackle next.
