Jan Edwards Glad you like the look of Winter Downs, and yes,the Kindle version has just gone up on Amazon this week. Just in time for the launch.
Jan Edwards The strange noises and lights in my parent's house back when I was a teenager could make a good supernatural book.
But for crime? I would have be way back in the early 70s, sitting in a pub on the St Helier estate (nr Croydon) when two guys walked in - blasted the bar with a sawn-off - and calmly walked off again. The fact that the barman hit the deck the moment he saw them said a great deal!
Jan Edwards Couple is a term that could be answered in many different ways. As a romantic couple then Lizzy Bennett and Mr Darcy are the template for so many fictional couple. Then as a duo you have Holmes and Watson - whose relationship has been retold in so many crime series under differing name and even genders. My own couple in my upcoming crime book Winter Downs are yet another version of couple in that they are sisters.
Jan Edwards Sussex Tales comes squarely from the places and people that I knew growing up in rural Sussex during the 1950s and 60s.

The supernatural tales are harder to define, though the title story, Leinster Gardens, was inspired by the famous 'false houses' of that London address.
Jan Edwards That is a hard one. Some are sparked by some tiny event such as an overhead comment, or by something that happens to me or to somebody I know, or else a newspaper headline or magazine article. Others just arrive from no particular place.

Of late much of my short fiction has been commissioned for themes anthologies, but I write others just for fun. Whatever the reason for writing it most of my fiction will revolve around folklore in some fashion or other.
Jan Edwards I have the new extended edition of the prize winning book, Sussex Tales, coming out later in 2014

Also a collection of supernatural tales, Leinster Gardens and Other Subtleties, in the pipeline. Leinster Gardens will contain some of my short fiction published in various anthologies and magazines over several years, plus one new piece.

With editors hat on, The Alchemy Press Book of Urban Mythic 2 and Wicked Women will be out in the second half on 2014. Both co-edited with Jenny Barber.

I have several other projects in hand, as always.
Jan Edwards Write... a lot. It does not always matter what you are writing so long as you are writing. And when you are not writing? Read.
Jan Edwards Writing. Being able to put all of those ideas into something that will hopefully give reading pleasure. That and meeting a lot of really exciting writers and readers at events.
Jan Edwards If I am not getting my ideas down in writing it is generally down being distracted by bright shiny things elsewhere. Family, friends or other creative work.

This year (2014), for example, I have had editing projects with The Alchemy Press, Penkhull Press and Fox Spirit books that have kept me occupied.
