In isolation, I was alone with my thoughts. It's just that my thoughts were manifested as a psychopathic killer who tortured me for fun.

I'm trying to tackle my list of "to read" books this year, so my summer will be likely filled with classics I feel guilty for not having read already, as well as other books I've picked up over the years that I thought looked interesting.

Honestly? Probably Katniss and Peta from The Hunger Games. I really liked Peta's stick-to-it-iveness even when Katniss was clearly crushing on Gale. He was a steady presence and I appreciated his ability to allow Katniss enough time to figure herself out before finally being able to be with her.

Preparation. I rarely get writer's block because I do not have the time to get writer's block. Writing during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) forces me to push toward the deadline and merely note where I'd need to make changes later. Of course, this is also possible because, during the other 11 months of the year, I plan out how the story will play out. If I follow my plan, there's not much room for writer's block.

Honestly, it's being able to create stories out of nothing more than my imagination. There's a lot of interesting things to think about, but once I start stringing them together into a story, linking all the pieces of the puzzle together, then I get excited to tell this story to whoever will read it.

While it hasn't been published yet, I got the idea for "The Constellation Tournament" when I watched the anime, "Fairy Tail". During the Grand Magic Games, there was a match between two celestial magicians. Each one of them called upon the zodiacs to fight for them, which made me wonder how the other constellations would battle against each other. As the Grand Magic Games were also somewhat of a tournament, I realized that there's a common "tournament arc" through many anime and manga that I could use to structure my own story. Three books later and "The Constellation Tournament" trilogy has now been written.

Often, I get inspired to write after watching a really good movie. Much of my writing is what would be described as "visual", so if I see something interesting, I am inspired to think how I would describe it in words. Plus, if the writing in a film is really good, I'm inspired to tell my own stories.

Honestly? Write what you would want to read. If you're trying to write to a formula or trying to align with whatever is "popular", it's likely you probably won't enjoy the writing process.
Aside from that, just sit down and write . . . you can edit it into a masterpiece later.

I have a few works in progress right now, and I'm really excited about all of them.
- The Constellation Tournament: I finished writing this trilogy in November of 2015 and now I'm in the process of editing and getting it polished up so I can publish.
- Jurassic Manor: This short story will be appearing in "The Midnight Writers' Anthology 2016", which has the theme of "Domesticated Velociraptors". I'm also editing this work and hope to submit by the end of April.
- 14er Father: I haven't started writing this one, but I'm collecting data right now so it'll be easier to write come November of 2016.
