Hi JR! Thanks for getting in touch and reaching out to me. Sadly, as per my website, I am currently closed to unsolicited reviews. Too many books! Too little time I'm afraid. Wishing you the very best with your E-series. Dimity

I'd really like to visit the Mabombo Ranges and check into The Grandest Hotel on Earth. Situated in grounds that are a magical mash up of African savannah, Disneyland and Shangri-La, I think this would be an awesome place to soak up some grand for a spell.

An easier question would be; what books aren't on my summer reading list! I have the usual barrowload of Kids Lit reviews to push through plus some Nick Earl's The True Story of Butterfish and Crazy Rich Asians, just because life needs a laugh some days.

It's 7.11 am, 16 minutes until the she needs to be at the bus stop, two more than she needs thanks to her smoother than silk getting-ready-routine which she sticks to like burrs on a sock despite her slightly later start this morning. She slings open the fridge, then notices the empty milk bottle on the kitchen bench, the coffee jar left open, a dirty teaspoon sticking out of it and silently curses her one night stand for the horror commute she will now have to endure without her morning latte.

I really think the question of how my dog knows when I've finished eating needs to be addressed. I could be anywhere, he could be asleep, yet without fail he will trot over and ask for his turn (to be fed) the nanosecond I push my plate away no matter how quiet or misleading I am. I suspect a conspiracy or at the very least some sort of elaborate spy camera system being deployed.

Hi Jill, Of course that would be lovely. I am glad that our humble story was able to touch you in such a profound way. Nicky's illustrations are indeed heart-melting. That 'blue page', the wordless one, is one of our favourites and one of the most powerful spreads of the whole book. Yours gratefully, Dimity

I'm a sucker for most fictional couples and hopeless romances - Gilbert Blythe and Anne from Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables is a notable favourite, though. Quirky, honest, on again-off again, exasperating and enduring. Their chemistry keeps the heart fluttering and pounding by degrees. Also Declan O'Malley's relationship with Lisa in The Pause by John Larkin is exquisite.

Hi Jill, this only just received, so presume all is in hand and sorted for the affirmative. Many thanks for your consideration of me. :-D

I don't really get writer's block, more writer's avalanche when I feel so over or underwhelmed at times I don't know which way is up with my story. That's when I know it's time to back off so I can dig my way out. It's just as frustrating. Letting a ill-working manuscript lie takes some discipline, sometimes more than that required to write it in the first place.

By reading both genres I love and those I'm fascinated by. I go for long walks too. My best inspiration often occurs when my mind is void of everything else, so I need a quiet, empty house usually. This is when I can really hear the words that want to be written. Deadlines inspire action too!

Read - often and always.

Evolving. Not one day goes past that I don't learn something new either because I'm researching something specific for what I'm working on or simply because I've learned to observe everything more keenly. I love absorbing so much information and energy.

Quite a few picture book manuscripts, some raw works in progress, some close to being publishable (I hope). I've a couple of publishers waiting on a few but am an obsessive perfectionist so have not sent them off, yet.

The idea for Who Stole Santa's Mail? originated from a paper clipping article in my local newspaper. It piqued my curiosity and got me asking that wonderful, What if question. I love Christmas and the magic that it creates too so it came kind of naturally that this story should fall around my favourite time of year.
