I'm a sucker for most fictional couples and hopeless romances - Gilbert Blythe and Anne from Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables is a notable favourite, though. Quirky, honest, on again-off again, exasperating and enduring. Their chemistry keeps the heart fluttering and pounding by degrees. Also Declan O'Malley's relationship with Lisa in The Pause by John Larkin is exquisite.

Hi Dimity, I will put a longer review into PIO for you and GCW and maybe even the Reading Stack (I haven't submitted to them in a while). Is that ok? I did have a tear in my eye at the book launch. The illustrations when going over the book for the third or fourth time were perfect. Particularly the grey room picture with just a hint of colour on the rug. hugs Jill
