I'm publishing a series of collections of short stories titled, EYES OF PROMETHEUS. Volume 1 is out, and I am working on Volume 2. I and two other authors write our stories. Then I go to work with the raw stories and do my three pass editing, formatting, internal and cover design, copyright, and self-publish it.
Meanwhile, I've plotted two other stories that grew too large for such a collection. Being partly done, they will become my next two books. Both are fantasies, and one has science fiction elements. ('Muse Gate' and 'Vespar')

I wanted something short like a novella and under that criteria I picked the first story that jumped out at me. That was my decision.
When I began writing, my characters took over. I had it plotted, but reaching each point turned into a tug-of-war which ultimately spun it into a different genre than I first intended. All in all, we worked well together when looking at the final product.

I was born inspired and have never been able to keep up with my imagination. It is always teasing me to pick among my ideas the next story. I'm too casual for my brains to go out the window when starting a new project.

Run with inspiration, but remember your first draft is just the beginning. The words you wrote are not sacred. Neither is the arrangement of section or order of your story.
Read critically and to learn from other's writing.
If you haven't already, read about writing. Remember too, you're always on a learning curve.

The reward of creating something, and hopefully unique and well done.
It isn't the money even as it trickles in.
I just want to bless others with my stories.

I'm disabled which causes mood swings. Depression will slow me. If reading the last 2-4 paragraphs doesn't work, I look at my story plot. Still nothing? I reread my story plot. Excitement or at least inspiration reemerges. Most of the time I can quickly find my orientation and write through the block.
I can always revisit it during editing and reading aloud steps.
