Charlotte Nash Probably Fenella Maxwell and Dino Ferranti from Jilly Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles. Mostly because it was one of the earliest romantic couples I read, and they were both interesting people - driven, complex and deeply flawed - and with great romantic chemistry. I've read others over the years that have come close (like Claire and Jamie Fraser), but I've re-read the story with Fen and Dino many more times, and I think that counts for something.
Charlotte Nash Finish your projects. Get good critique from people who know what they're talking about, who know your genre, and respect you and your work. (Don't ever take critique from people who are mean, who look down on your genre, who are related to you!). Then, learn how to handle critique (it's like spiders ... you have to desensitise yourself, and it does get easier to hear). Then, edit. Then write more and repeat. That process is the life of a writer.
Charlotte Nash Creating something from nothing.
Charlotte Nash My fourth book, with working title "The Horseman". It's set in the Victorian high country, and tells the story of a stranded doctor and a mountain horseman.
Charlotte Nash I don't really believe in it. 'Block' usually means lack of planning for me. So, if I can't write, I go back to the plan and work out why. It's usually because I can't "see" a scene, or where the story is going.
