I don't have writer's block. I can always write. I suppose what I do have is writer's distraction! Where I am set to write but then chores, errands, family, pets, things just distract me and pull me away from writing. Sometimes there's a hum in my brain that says, okay, no more writing... I do know what I want to write, but get distracted and it becomes hard to focus...errr.. gate or warp back into the scene to begin transcribing again. But hey, there's always a new day and a fresh cup of coffee!

Well I love and have always loved... AND done the work... to write. So my joy is just that, it is part of me. What I don't enjoy obviously is that you have to persuade and sale beyond just the writing. But the best thing is warping, gating myself into these worlds, and like a reporter with a notepad, I'm running around writing notes as every chaotic panic-ridden epic explosive scene is ripping all around me! Even the cool dark dungeon discussions of back and forth between Alfred and the Knights was an awesome evening. My knuckles were tightening as I was scribbling as fast I could, trying my best to describe the tension and humor going on that evening... I can tell you!

To be honest... DON'T WRITE! Unless you are willing to be like a 'used car salseman' or an old fashioned 'door to door salesman'. Cuz I'm learning the hard way that writing is 1/10 the problem, the rest is marketing your book and selling it. So if you have but a modicum or timid desire to write... and are struggling with punching the keyboard everyday... then why bother? Get out and enjoy life and put passion into your work, family, faith, or whatever. Being a writer can't be a hobby-dream. There's too many of us who write often and good and can keep on marketing day and night that it just isn't worth it. And you will still get the same joy outta life if you get a regular paycheck and enjoy those around you... not stuck bent over a computer!
Course if you still feel compelled, pick up some cool roleplaying system and tell stories that way! Horror, modern stuff, scifi, FANTASY, pulp fiction... no limit to and immediate fan reaction in that regard!

I am working on the Alfred Boy King series still, outlining Alfred 4 right now. Alfred 3 is fully written and in editing stages. I am also writing a series of cool fast paced action short stories that will read out, play out like awesome movies I'd love, DIE, to see! Can't wait to finish these as well. A ton of ideas!

I've always told stories, even as a kid. I was always the dungeon master in roleplaying sessions, spent so much time creating characters, world settings, and having to come up stuff right on the spot as you entertain 2-6 guests. I actually don't have a hard time coming up with ideas or being inspired, for me the tough part is ....MARKETING... how to sale myself, my work.

Pretty simple, I've grown up with and always loved Lord of the Rings, roleplaying, and the new fun culture that the Harry Potter series created. So I wanted to write a story with what I loved about all those elements, and of course, do away with the parts I found, not as fun or fast paced. And the best part, that drove me on and on, was the chance to read this great story of Alfred to my very young daughter. The best book I've ever read to her every night. Of course, a little biased but hey...
