Goodreads asked Ron Smorynski:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Ron Smorynski To be honest... DON'T WRITE! Unless you are willing to be like a 'used car salseman' or an old fashioned 'door to door salesman'. Cuz I'm learning the hard way that writing is 1/10 the problem, the rest is marketing your book and selling it. So if you have but a modicum or timid desire to write... and are struggling with punching the keyboard everyday... then why bother? Get out and enjoy life and put passion into your work, family, faith, or whatever. Being a writer can't be a hobby-dream. There's too many of us who write often and good and can keep on marketing day and night that it just isn't worth it. And you will still get the same joy outta life if you get a regular paycheck and enjoy those around you... not stuck bent over a computer!

Course if you still feel compelled, pick up some cool roleplaying system and tell stories that way! Horror, modern stuff, scifi, FANTASY, pulp fiction... no limit to and immediate fan reaction in that regard!
