P.J. Sullivan Thank you for your interest in my book. I will get in touch via email and let's get to work on those road blocks.
P.J. Sullivan I have not written any books about Northern California, but some of my friends have. Check out the Listopia called “Behind the Redwood Curtain.” And another called “Northern Californian History.”

I wrote one book about Missouri. A Civil War book, nonfiction. Mostly about Montgomery County, but it mentions sites in North St. Louis such as Benton Barracks, which later became Fairgrounds Park.
P.J. Sullivan Certainly not Philip Carey and Mildred Rogers. Certainly not Madame Bovary and her boring husband. David Copperfield’s girl friends are too sappy to take seriously. Raskolnikov and Sonia are too intense. Superman and Lois Lane are too politically correct. Certainly not Soames Forsyte and poor Ireney! If Rhett Butler doesn't "give a damn" about Scarlett O'Hara, why should I? Mickey and Minnie Mouse are rodents. Nancy and Sluggo are not married. Nor are Lolita and Humbert Humbert. Lady Chatterley and her lover are banned in Boston. Popeye's lady friend, Olive Oyl, is too skinny. So, by elimination, I’d have to say Little Dorrit and her Arthur Clennam. Why? Because she is so cute! And because she is nicer than Ward and June Cleaver combined, if that is possible. Yep, Amy Dorrit it is, and her Arthur, by default.
P.J. Sullivan I would go to Dickensian London and rescue Little Dorrit and her family from debtors prison. Then I would go to Paris and rescue Trilby from the evil clutches of Svengali. Then I would help Holden Caulfield catch people in the rye. I'd like to have a beer with Boo Radley, but that would be difficult to arrange.
P.J. Sullivan Writing biographies for the St. Louis Genealogical Society. Mini biographies of people who lived in St. Louis.
P.J. Sullivan When I see something that needs to be said, if no one else is saying it, I get inspired to write.
P.J. Sullivan The source of Dr. Jansson's study is: Cancer Detection and Prevention, 1986. Volume 9, pages 171-94. It is titled "Geographic cancer risk and intracellular potassium/sodium ratios." I have not read his primary articles, only abstracts and secondary sources.

Someone should write a proper book about the dangers of salt. I have not found one that satisfies me. But Herbert M. Shelton wrote some excellent chapters about salt in his books "Food and Feeding" and "Superior Nutrition."
P.J. Sullivan My most recent book, a book of authentic Civil War letters, was an outgrowth of my research into the history of my ancestors.
P.J. Sullivan Intelligent feedback. Even negative feedback is welcome if it is respectful and intelligent.
P.J. Sullivan The first rule of good writing is to have something to say, so get out there and experience the world.
P.J. Sullivan I ignore it and keep writing. My first drafts are often crudely written, but so what? There will be plenty of time later to develop and polish them.
