My recent book "The Ten Domains of Effective Goal Setting," was released on January 18th on Amazon Books and in the Kindle Store; and was available as a Goodreads Giveaway worldwide with over 2,800 entries!. The book was inspired by a self-improvement seminar I attended in New York, many years ago. The Ten Domains remains the best strategy for goal setting I have ever experienced and thought it was my obligation to share the concept with readers. The book attempts to a offer a more holistic approach to achieving lifelong dreams in the areas of our personal and professional lives that matter most.

I remind myself of three mentors who have had the most positive impact on my writing: my 9th grade English teacher, Mrs. Wagner, who shared with me that my three act play (about a surfing contest in Cape Hatteras) was the best she had read from years of assigning the project to students, and insisted that I take my writing ability seriously; Norma Grasso, a humanities professor at my alma mater who rescued me from muckraking at the student newspaper and taught me how to write an inspiring lead supported by a well researched and written body; and my wife, Suzan, who simply inspires me to "write."

My next book, "Hire, Train, Monitor, Motivate" is the culmination of years of researching and practicing the art of recruiting, training, and retaining teams of distinction in the workplace. The book is still in in its planning stages so I am considering expanding the idea to other areas of life such as building sports teams, boy or girl scout troops, volunteer corps and the like. The premise of the book is that productive teams are made, not born; and need to be effectively recruited, taught, supervised, and inspired to succeed and persevere.

Writing is the freedom to express thoughts and ideas, whether in creative fiction or narrative nonfiction. Primarily a contributor to the nonfiction genre, I have the privilege of writing about what I know from many years of experience here on planet Earth :). But in all seriousness, I first test my ideas on my own blog, Country View, and also on various other sites. If it catches on by inspiring readers' interest, I then consider expanding the idea into book form.
