Oh my gosh! I haven't even thought about that yet. I have a to-be-read pile that is huge. I can tell you it will be a mix of romance, thrillers and mysteries with the occasional Bill Bryson book thrown in for good measure. I need a dose of his humor now and then. What is on your summer reading list? I would love to know.

Writer's block happens when either something is wrong with the story or when I haven't done anything to refill my creative soul. For me it's usually the first situation. Something is wrong with one of my characters or with the plot. Once I figure out what the issue is, the writer's block is gone.

I get to play God. I get to manipulate my characters in any way I like. I get to kill characters in creative ways. I get to torture my characters and then make them happy. It is so much fun!

Learn your craft. Take some writing classes and then just do it! Put your butt in the chair and start writing. Keep learning your craft. Find a critique partner or an editor and ask them to read your work. Take more classes. Read. Read. Read. You can learn so much from reading books in your genre. Whatever you do, don't give up. If I can do it, so can you.

I am doing the last edits on the third book in the Callahan Security series entitled Hit and Run. I have another one I am editing which is the first book in an entirely different series set in Fort Worth, TX and I am starting to plan out another series which with any luck will be coming out toward the end of this year.

I have always wanted to write. Always! I started my first book in high school. I hope it has disappeared forever. I am constantly making up stories in my head. Finally once my kids were in school and I was able to carve out some time for myself, I started to play with the idea of writing in a more serious way.

Good question! I have a new book coming out next week called Smash and Grab. It's the second one in the Callahan Security series. The idea for it came to me all at once. I wanted to write a book where the heroine was type of person that everyone would want as their best friend. Someone who would help you bury the body, you know. It just grew out of that. Lacy is calm under pressure and would definitely know how to deal with a dead body.
