Learn your craft. Take some writing classes and then just do it! Put your butt in the chair and start writing. Keep learning your craft. Find a critique partner or an editor and ask them to read your work. Take more classes. Read. Read. Read. You can learn so much from reading books in your genre. Whatever you do, don't give up.
