I wanted to explore another genre since the horror genre is getting overrun with vampires, werewolves and zombies and agents are having a hard time pitching anything else in the genre. I had an agent suggest I try the paranormal suspense field. I had always wanted to write a murder mystery with a twist. So, I let my mind come up with a suitably sick M.O. and added some paranormal stuff to it and voila` a paranormal suspense series was born. I am having a hoot of a good time writing them!

I sing. Whatever song goes through my mind, because there is always a song in there. I may have to get up and go cook dinner or stop and go play a game, but what really clears out the cobwebs is the song. If a upbeat happy song pops in my head, I write a light scene and it just hops from my fingers onto the keys and leaps out onto the page. If it is a sad song, it bleeds from my heart, weeps through my fingers and gathers onto the page. The song always gets me writing again. Try it sometime, you have nothing to lose and you always get the pleasure of singing the song.

No matter what others may or may not say about your writing, never stop writing. By writing you learn from your mistakes, so you become a better each time you sit down to write. If you let one person's opinion of your writing you cheat yourself out of what you may learn by continuing and you cheat that one reader out there somewhere who will take something magical away from the reading of what you wrote. If there is within you a need to write, then just write, the rest really does work itself out in the end.

I am working on a story about an entire civilization that has worshipped Erishkegal since the beginning of time and will stop at nothing to see their goddess inherit the world. On the other side of the coin is the mother and archaeologist who is fighting to save her son and the world from the evil these women spread. Working title is “Irkalla’s Daughters”.
