Viki? What? Third re-read and you've only just found the books? Hmm. I worry a little bit that you might be a murder-mystery reading PSYCHO, but assuming you're fairly normal then ... um ... well see above for answers. I'm very much hoping there'll be a book in spring 2021, but I do have quite a lot on my hands. It'll get there though, one day, for sure. I promise. And #8 as well. This series isn't yet done.

Yes, definitely. And I do know the answer. Twill all be revealed at some point ...

Or his future story perhaps? I do agree that a standalone novel written in Lev's very peculiar voice would be a joy to write and (with luck) good fun to read as well. one day ...

Oh blimey. I want to get Fiona #7finished as soon as I can, but I have a complicated life - disabled wife, four kids, and a demanding side business (Jericho Writers.) I have a 60% complete draft and am hoping to complete it before Xmas, which would give me a spring launch date. But I've been wrong before so I'm hesitant to commit too hard,. The family has to come first, I'm afraid!

Yes, sorry. My writing life took a huge swerve in 2017/18 - my Jericho Writers business started growing a lot and has needed a lot of attention since then. But I'm shoving it back in its box. Fiona #7 is 56,000 words written - that'll be a bit more than halfway I think. I'm hoping to have it out by the end of the year. Fingers crossed ... Sorry it's been so long

Wish I knew! My working document is called HOSPITAL OF THE LOST, but I slightly doubt that that'll be the final title.
The book is set in a secure psychiatric hospital whose inmates are mostly Special Forces veterans. Anyone with a good idea for a title should just let me know. I might well use it! (I'm crap at titles.)

She will - don't worry. I have plans for her ... but I'm not going to tell you what they are. :)

Sorry - I've had a couple of years away on other things. My bad! But Fiona #7 is 50% done now. It'll be out later this year, and there won't be such a long wait for #8. Sorry all!

Hey guys, I'm really sorry for the delays & silence. My life has been pulled sideways by some of my extracurricular commitments - see here for a clue of what I've been up to: https://jerichowriters.com/ - and I just haven't been able to write properly for a year or so now.
BUT: my big promise to myself and to you is that I'll pick up FIona Griffiths #7 properly by the start of March. The book is half-written already and just needs a few months of work. I've NEVER taken as long a break from writing as just recently, and I never will again. Once book #7 is done, I'll start work on #8.
So again - sorry to have been a Naughty Author. I'll be back on the straight and narrow very soon. Apologies all round.

Oh, that's easy. 221B Baker street, in the last days of Victorian England. I'd arrive on a misty night - a proper pea-souper - and come by hansom cab. I'd rap at the door, wait impatiently, cast my silk hat onto a chair . . . and wonder why a certain, lean detective was gazing so intently at the specks of mud on my shoe.
Harry Bingham
Aaaargh! I don't know. I'd like to write faster, but I don't want to compromise on quality either. I think the next Fiona book will be out next summer (2018). And her dad? Don't know. There are characters like Fi's Dad / Lev / Buzz / Penry etc who all form part of Fiona's universe, but different investigations will call on different things each time. But yes: I want to see a bit more of Fi's dad, and it's about time Lev stretched his legs again . . .
Harry Bingham
Uh - it came out last year! You should have:
TALKING TO THE DEAD (#1)
LOVE STORY WITH MURDERS (#2)
THE STRANGE DEATH OF FIONA GRIFFITHS (#3)
THIS THING OF DARKNESS (#4)
THE DEAD HOUSE (#5)
In June, we'll be releasing the sixth in the series:
THE DEEPEST GRAVE
For various reasons, that book won't be available to pre-order but it is already picking out shoes and accessories for its big day. Make sure you're on the mailing list and I'll be in touch when it''s ready to go. (Not on the mailing list? Go to HarryBingham.com and sign up for your free download.)

No chance. A book comes out this summer - July - and it's a good un. (Also: a bit less challenging for claustrophobics!) Make sure you sign up to my mailing list - here: http://www.harrybingham.com/lev-in-gl... - and I'll let you know exactly when it's due out. Also, there'll be an extra little free treat for Readers Club members in between now and then. No spoilers, but you'll like it . . .

(view spoiler)[I enjoy your Fi Griffiths books very much, and was excited to find "The Dead House" recently. I'm about 10% into it love it so far. One observation - and this may change as I progress thru the book - but it seems, over the past couple of books, that Fi's illness is sort of receding into the background as a major motivating factor in her work and life. Am I way off base on that? Anyway - thanks for the books! (hide spoiler)]
Harry Bingham
She's pretty sane in the Dead House. She gets a bit over-obsessive at one point, but mostly this case is as sane as she's yet been. Alas, however, she starts losing it a bit in Book 6 (out next year). The illness fluctuates, but it never goes away!

(view spoiler)[I just finished This Thing of Darkness and The Dead House back to back and it was hard to put them down to get to real life stuff..Well Done!.. My question is with This Thing of Darkness. Whether we find out who the mechanically altered voice is? Does Fiona figure it out or is this another mystery to be discovered later? One comment on The Dead House - if you are claustrophobic its really scary! (hide spoiler)]
Harry Bingham
You will, one day, find out whose voice that was . . . but it may take a few books yet! And the claustrophobic stuff in the Dead House? yes, I don't have those issues - and I have, for example, done a 600 metre crawl underground, part of which was almost underwater - so when I wrote those passages, I was actually worried they weren't strong enough and worked hard to ramp them up. I think that worked! I suspect if you took a vote amongst my readers, that stuff in the cave was as scary as anything I've never done!

Yes, I agree with you, really. I thought the production company was great. The acting was great. The direction etc was great. And the script - so essential! - let things down a bit. Sky Living were probably going to recommission anyway, and give more space to each script . . . but then they cancelled their entire UK production slate so that was the end of that. But the books are still kicking around and I'm sure the TV interest will be back one day. Theser things can take a l o n g old time!
Harry Bingham
Lordy me - I don't really know. My two all time crime-writing gods are Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and Raymond Chandler, with honourable mentions for Gillian Flynn, Tana French, Patricia Highsmith, Dorothy L Sayers, Donna Tartt . . . and whoever I'm feeling really yummy about at the moment. You should probably shove Dostoyevsky on that list as well, since Crime & Punishment remains one of the best novels about murder & its consequences ever. That answer isn't very specific, I know. Sorry!
Harry Bingham
Oh yes, yes, yessety-yes yes. This series has got plenty of life in it yet. Watch out for #5 ("The Dead House") next summer and I'm currently just starting work on #6. All those questions will be answered in due course. . . Thanks for the nice words! (And do get yourself into the Fiona G Readers Club - via HarryBingham.com - that way you get a free download and notification of when the next book comes out.) Thanks again!
Harry Bingham
The fourth book - This Thing of Darkness - is already out, so you can see for yourself. And it's sort of a return to something lighter. The pressure isn't nearly as relentless as it was in Strange Death, but there is one long and very scary episode that tests Fiona to the absolute max. Needless to say, she handles that pressure in her own unique way . . .!
