If this truly is your dream, don't let anything or anyone hold you back. It isn't easy all the time, but there are so many incredible experiences awaiting you once your book is published. The feel of your book in your hands for the first time, your first sale, the first time you sign your name in your book, hearing a complete stranger say how your words impacted them, seeing your book on a shelf next to authors you've read, love, and admire... these wonderful things and so much more is waiting for you. All you have to do is keep writing, editing, and most of all, believe in your book and yourself.

All of it!!!
Seriously though, I think my favorite part is the ability to take this tiny spark of an idea and turn it into this beautiful, complex, compelling work of art that will one day be shared with the world.

Unclaimed--and all of the other stories I'm creating--come to me in dreams. When it first started, I had been reading a lot. I went from 1-2 books a year to about 30, and those were in the first six months. Now, occasionally when I read a book or watch a movie, I'll dream about them. Except my dreams would be me changing things I didn't like about the story. After reading so many books, my brain was on hyperactive overdrive. The dreams began to change into a story I didn't recognize. Each night it would pick up where the previous night left off too. It was so vivid. I loved it! Ultimately I didn't want to forget the dreams so I began writing them down. I'd written as a kid and was good at it and dreamed of being an author, but writing a novel is a whole heck of a lot different than an english paper! Once I'd gotten a good chunk of the story done, I shared it with my husband. He gave me the encouragement I needed to pursue my dream.

Between work and my time with my husband and kiddos, my writing time is very limited. I usually write late at night when the kids are asleep and my husband is a work. Throughout the day and during my dream the night before, my brain was hard at work creating the next scene for whatever book I'm currently working on so when I can finally get to the laptop, I will write like crazy until I either get it all out, or absolutely cannot stay up any later.

I am working with a team of fabulous people--fellow authors and beta readers--to revise the second book in the Unclaimed Series to get it ready for my editor. It will be out in 2015.

So far I have been very fortunate and haven't had writers block. *knocks on wood* The issue I have to tackle with is the stories in my head fighting for priority over who gets to come out first!
