Thanks for your question. I would say that the most powerful brathing exercise to calm the mind would be the alternate nostril breathing on page 52-53 of the 'Power of Breath' - this is best done daily, on a regular basis.

Swami Saradananda I find that my flat is extra clean when I'm working on a book. For me the best way to un-block my mind is to clear out a cupboard or drawer.
Swami Saradananda In order for me to write about something, it has to be really clear in my mind. I find that writing is one of the best ways for me to study what I'm interested in.
When I teach, I can often see when people have questions or don't follow what I"m saying. I ask for questions and then try to clear things up. However, it isn't possible for me to be there with readers, so I have to make sure that what I'm writing is really crystal clear.
