Ross Sidor I kind of like keeping him enigmatic while giving the secondary characters and antagonists more extensive backgrounds, but who knows? We shall see.
Ross Sidor Yes. It's also be re-edited and has some small revisions, so I'd recommend getting this version. It's still free today.
Ross Sidor Thank you, Benjamin, and that is indeed very encouraging and motivating to hear, as well as immensely humbling, and honestly really makes all the hard work worth it. I've taken a little break from Book 4 (it's nearly finished) to work on edits and revisions on Book 1 (now called Weapon Grade), which will be up very soon. I'll let you know when, and it will be available free for the first week. I'm very excited about getting back to work finishing up Book 4 though, and can't wait for you to read it. Thanks for all your support! It really does mean a lot.
Ross Sidor Re-read a favorite novel, research, or have a drink.
Ross Sidor That's a tough question. Gerard Butler especially and maybe Liev Schreiber come to mind, though they're perhaps just a little too old at this point. My next choice would be Tom Hardy. Sam Worthington is a possibility, too, if he were to bulk up a bit.

I am certainly open to suggestions from anyone who has the read the books and has an opinion.
Ross Sidor Reading the news every day, I usually end up with a new story idea every couple weeks. And reading authors/book I really enjoy always puts me in the mindset to sit down and work hard on my own writing.
Ross Sidor All of my research is from open sources-- books, articles, travel guides/websites, documentaries, Google Maps/Earth. It's not as time consuming as it might sound. It helps that I pretty extensively read non-fiction on a variety topics for my own personal reading and I retain information well. I also read the news everyday from a variety of sources. For things like weapons, I'll do firsthand research when possible,
Ross Sidor Mark Greaney and Brad Taylor for their high-level output of consistently entertaining, realistic, and inventive plots and characters. Always fresh, original, and topical. They are the Thriller Gods, as far as I'm concerned.

Frederick Forsyth for his research and incorporating factual details and information into the backgrounds of his stories.

Andy McNab for the bleak grittiness and moral ambiguity of his books. A much more down-to-earth and less glamorous take on the common "lone wolf, singleton operative" archetype.

Jack Murphy, Stephen England, and Peter Nealen are immensely inspirational and motivational to me as self-published authors who consistently write high quality books and are able to compete in a market dominated by the authors from the big mainstream publishers.
Ross Sidor "Agent in Place." A new Gray Man novel is always the highlight of my reading each year, and I'm also looking forward to "A Damned Serious Business" by Gerald Seymour. Also, it won't be published until October, but I'm very interested in Frederick Forsyth's upcoming novel called "The Fox."
