Samuel
Samuel asked Ross Sidor:

What are your spy fiction writing influences?

Ross Sidor Mark Greaney and Brad Taylor for their high-level output of consistently entertaining, realistic, and inventive plots and characters. Always fresh, original, and topical. They are the Thriller Gods, as far as I'm concerned.

Frederick Forsyth for his research and incorporating factual details and information into the backgrounds of his stories.

Andy McNab for the bleak grittiness and moral ambiguity of his books. A much more down-to-earth and less glamorous take on the common "lone wolf, singleton operative" archetype.

Jack Murphy, Stephen England, and Peter Nealen are immensely inspirational and motivational to me as self-published authors who consistently write high quality books and are able to compete in a market dominated by the authors from the big mainstream publishers.
