Rowan Rook Thank you! I haven't released any other novels, yet (though I do have a couple chapters of a serial novel, called Living Ageless, up for free reading on sites like Jukepop Serials and Wattpad), but I am currently working on a couple more, and hope to have them out later this year or early 2016. Thanks again for the support, and I hope you enjoy the book!

Rowan Rook Being able to spend time doing something that I love. Being able to express myself in ways that the 'real world' doesn't always allow. Being able to experience things, through my characters, that I myself never would. Being able to escape the daily doldrums of life to go on all sorts of wonderful, and sometimes terrifying, adventures.
Rowan Rook Write what you want to write. Don't write to please anyone else, and don't just write what you think will be popular or safe. Don't censor yourself. If you don't enjoy writing it, it's unlikely that anyone will enjoy reading it, either. But if you put yourself and your own emotions and beliefs into your work, then not only will you grow as a writer with your own unique voice, but the honesty, fun, and personality in your work will connect with readers, too.
Rowan Rook I always try to keep writing. First drafts are never perfect, so I keep in mind that if I can just jot down the bones of the scene or section I'm having trouble with, then I can move on and come back to it later. This is also one of the reasons I tend to work on more than one project at a time - if I'm struggling with one, I might focus on another for a few days, for a bit of mental fresh air.

If it is more than just one scene or one project that I'm struggling with, I will take a short break from the book, or from writing in general. Short is the key word, though. I find that taking too long of a break only disconnects me from the story and makes it worse.
Rowan Rook A part of my mind is always looking for inspiration. It can be anything that stirs it up - a song, a good book or movie, the view from a hotel window, or the scenery on a long walk. One thing that always helps, though, is seeing and trying new things. I find that getting out of my comfort zone and experiencing what the world has to offer stimulates creativity and the flow of new ideas.
Rowan Rook I'm currently (as of March 2015) working on three major projects.

First, I'm drafting another sci-fi novel. This one will be more of a creature feature, about a ship that runs into trouble during a competitive hunt for a mysterious Leviathan beneath the sea.

Secondly, I'm also revising the final draft of a much longer fantasy novel, about a scientist, a soldier, and a religious cult, and their descent into darkness as they try to change their world for what they believe is the better.

Thirdly, I'm also actively working on a serial novel. It's an urban fantasy about immortals who solve mysteries, called Living Ageless. The first two chapters are available now, and can be found from my website, or popular serial sites such as Jukepop Serials and FictionPress.
Rowan Rook Night Plague is something of an amalgamation of ideas, themes, and genres that I find interesting, myself. Whenever I begin a new writing project, I set out to write a book that I would personally enjoy reading. I group together a selection of my favorite concepts, and then think about how I can apply my own personal flavor and twists to them to create a unique story.
