Goodreads asked Rowan Rook:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rowan Rook I always try to keep writing. First drafts are never perfect, so I keep in mind that if I can just jot down the bones of the scene or section I'm having trouble with, then I can move on and come back to it later. This is also one of the reasons I tend to work on more than one project at a time - if I'm struggling with one, I might focus on another for a few days, for a bit of mental fresh air.

If it is more than just one scene or one project that I'm struggling with, I will take a short break from the book, or from writing in general. Short is the key word, though. I find that taking too long of a break only disconnects me from the story and makes it worse.
