Hi, Maggie--
First, thanks for your comment and your very kind words about the Bread Alone trilogy. It was truly a labor of love for me. I hope you enjoy Isabel's Daughter and The Laws of Harmony as well. I'm working on two new books right now--one a novel tentatively titled The Moment Before, and the other a collection of personal essays called The High Attitude Baker.
I noticed that you live in Canada, a country I love. For a while my husband and I had a house on Salt Spring Island, BC. We hope to go back there when he retires. He also has cousins in Toronto, and we honeymooned on the East Coast. Thanks again for your comment...

Oh, lucky you! I had the most wonderful trip to Cornwall years ago with my parents. All those lovely little seaside towns. And Tintagel (sp?) To walk those those gorgeous ruins. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
Now I'm really envious!

Hi, Jan--So good to hear from you! Where are you off to in Europe? I hope you enjoy Baker's Blues and have a wonderful trip, wherever you're headed. I'm fine and have about 100 pages on a new book. Travel safe and have fun!

Hi, Rachel--First of all, thanks for looking for Baker's Blues in your library, and I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner...I've been out of town. Anyway, libraries have always been very important to me and it really makes me sad that most are not carrying this book. There are many factors involved, mainly that it's a small independent press, not Harper Collins, and many libraries these days are constrained by city and county governments about which distributors they can use. Sometimes if they get enough requests for a book they can get money from their Friends of the Library group to purchase it. That's about the only suggestion I have, and I do appreciate your trying to find the book.

Hi, Sue--Thanks for this message and for seeking out Baker's Blues! Because the book is published by a small, independent press, it may be hard to find in book stores...at least right now. But they should be able to order it for you from Ingram, one of the largest book distributors. Yes, you could order it from Amazon, but it's also available on line through most independent book stores. In fact if you go to my website www.judihendricks.com and click on the "Buy Now" button, it will take you to my page at Collected Works Bookstore in Santa Fe. From there you can order a book and request to have it signed by me. Shipping is free and, depending upon the laws in your state, it may be sales tax free.
Hope this helps. Thanks and all good wishes, judi
